1000and 20 days

I though I was the only who read my blog, but apparently not, I've just reached 1000 hits. Not a bad number since only a few friends know my blog, but no relatives. It's almost been 3 weeks since Mona got out, the ad is back in the newspaper, but no sightings in several days. Work is not good. Earlier this week my three coworkers and I wrote a letter about the conduct of our Regional Manager and took it the HR manager. Apparently somethings up now because our head most person in our part of the company and our regional operations manager are flying out tomorrow. There is solidarity in numbers!! I've only black balled one person before and that was a college art teacher, never a boss.

Day 15

Nothing, no news today. The ad has been renewed in the local yokel weekly newspaper for the area, I have hope. Took this funny little survey.

2 Weeks AWOL

It's now been two weeks that Mona has been AWOL, and several days since I've heard of any sightings. I'm hoping that the weather will change and she will get cold and desperate and actively seek help and let herself be caught, I hope. I havent' mentioned knitting in awhile, I've mostly been working on the Clapotis shawl, but it seems to be dragging, I've already spotted a new potention pattern, the Audrey in Rowan, love at first sight. Th sock class is going well, 2 classes down and 2 to go. I think I might have my first knitted commission, I won't tell what until it's offical. I went to a training dinner for Movado watches and actually won the raffle prize!! A $900 watch, it's so beautiful, honestly I would give it to anyone who could catch my baby. Well, maybe the Tag Heuer watch I won in January, it's worth $1200, a man's heavy automatic and I seldomw wear it.

Living La Vida Loca

Mona, my dog has gone to the wild side and is living la vida loca, as my co-worker has creatively put it. She has been sighted playing with other dogs in people's yards and looking through windows at cats. Apparently she is no hurry to want to come, she got lucky that the weather turned and it's still a bearable tempurature. The big problem is that she's being spotted fairly regularly but runs when people approach her. How to catch her? P.S. I got the new stove today, it's a Frigidaire!

Hope?

There is hope today that Mona is still out and about in the wilds of Michigan. There had been no sightings since Saturday, until today! Two different people spotted her trotting along a road, several miles from where she was last seen. Aparently she was able to shed her sweater (the best sweater I ever made her from this varigated burgundy/brown/purple color Shepard Socks yarn that I bought from the owner of Lorna's Laces herself, it was a test sample) and the first sighting described her as mostly white then some brown, but the second sighting postively identified her as a mini greyhound! YEA! It's been so hard, I can't talk about it to anyone because I instantly start to cry. I have everyone possible in the area looking for her, called the vets, animal control, local dog catcher, newpaper and mailcarriers. Times are tough in that area for many so I hope the reward will be an incentive. I have a three day weekend so if I'm lucky I can go back to Michigan this weekend, maybe monday to pick her up, if someone could just catch her! Thanks to all my friends out there for supporting me, I really do appreciate it. Hopefully when this is all over I'll talk more about the trip, Mackinac Island, and the Awesome David Gray concert on the 12th. Here are some pics to entertain.

My Baby is Gone

I'm still in Michigan. While my friends and I were enjoying ourselves in Mackinac Island, my dog got away my friends step-dad who was watching her, that was friday evening. No sightings have been made since late saturday evening, and no calls from the flier today, except perhaps a prank collect-call. My heart is breaking, I love that dog so much...

Two Authors In Two Days

I had the best weekend! My all time favortite, Diana Gabaldon was in town Friday, town being Naperville to release her next book in a 6-book series, all 1000 pages of it. I'm being a very very good girl and am saving it and the new Harry Potter book for my Michigan trip starting early wednesday morning. Diana is a fabulous speaker and so intellient and articulate, the wry humor, wow, it totally makes me appreciatley the books more. So that was friday, it only took me 2 hours driving in traffic to get there and I was so low down in the line I didn't get mine and my friend Linda's signed until 10:30! Linda, you owe me a cup of joe for that one, hell make it a mocha! So saturday afternoon was the Yarn Harlot book signing at the evil yarn store, that was fun too, and yes once again I had to wait forever and was almost the last to have my book signed. Stephanie was cool to, down to earth and very friendly, as a thank-you for coming to Chicago I gave her a set of my stitch markers, she was impressed and who knows maybe the word will spread. I'm really making good way on my next project, I also plan to bring my class yarn on the trip to make the example sock, and the Clopatis wrap/scarf, is that the time? Its very weird and I can't remember but its from knitty and very sharp my friends Linda and Jen have made it. A couple of years ago I bought some yummy boucle from Tess's Designer Yarns, it's very soft and a mixture of grape/purple and black. I will update my project list on my blog when I get make, I promise. So Rachel, Sarah, Mona (the dog) and I are leaving weds for Michigan. Rachels mom is coming to the cabin too and is watching Mona while we go to Mackinaw Island friday and saturday. I am so looking forward to vacation again!!
